This is a quick note on happenings around the new album Morning Walk. Thanks to all who have purchased, downloaded, or streamed it! The release event was great fun with 20 or so friends and a bunch or great musicians. I got a package of 20 CDs the morning of the event just in time so that was nice. The rest of them came a day or so later so CDs are now available for purchase on the website or on Bandcamp. Streamers can still do their thing on Spotify but I did a little math and found that 500k streams roughly equals the purchase of 1 CD. No guilt or whining, just the realities of the modern musician.
Some tracks on the album have been getting plays by bluegrass and Irish radio programmers and there is a nice review up on the California Bluegrass Association website. Additionally, my new friend, neighbor, and film-maker, Peter Vahle put together a wonderful video of the title track, Morning Walk featuring Bernal Hill and the photography of my friend Doug Dunderdale that is up on YouTube. Go check it out and thanks a ton Peter and Doug. I also must shout out thanks to another neighbor, artist, friend Catherine Dauer who did the splendid original artwork of Bernal Hill for the album cover.
Finally, Lucy Smith and I are going to be playing Sunday June 5 at 7:30 PM at the Lucky Horseshoe Bar at 453 Cortland Street in Bernal Heights. If you are so inclined, stop by, get a CD or just say hey.
As always, let me know if you don't want to receive these emails and thanks everyone for supporting Live music!
